Will a 350Z engine fit into my G35 coupe?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if a 2004 350Z VQ35DE non-revup engine will fit into my 2004 G35? In case you are wondering, I have my American spec G with me here in the UK. I need a new engine because my botten end bearings are going out. Its either rebuild or get a newly rebuilt 350Z engine. I can't get a rebuilt G35 engine since they never sold the Infiniti G35 here in the UK. I figured its the same engine so it should fit right? If there's anything I should know, please leave comments. Thank you.

It's a direct bolt-in.

Identical block - direct swap. As a prior poster said, use your car's own harness.

Not exactly. The engine is identical, the 350z's ECU has a slightly more aggressive tune which makes the 350z put out a few more HP

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say Thanks for all the informative posts. Everything is such a hassle here in the UK. I feel relieved that I can do the swap without any issues. So, basically I just need to keep my engine harness from the G when I do the swap right?

Now another question, I called an Infiniti dealership in the states and asked if a Z engine will work in a G. Of course, they don't know if it would work or not. They told me they are not sure if it will work, but if it does...I will definately need to change the oil pan and the exhaust manifold. Does that information sound legit?

Since I've been out of the states for so long now, I'm really unfamilar with the prices there. The company that has the engine here is selling the refurbished Z engine for 2K pounds. That is about $3200. This price includes the engine and the install. Is that a good price?

Will I need to retune my car afterwards?

Also, will a Rev-up engine work for my 04? If it does, would you stay nonrevp or go revup? I'm assuming HR is out the question right?

Thanks for your help.

you can't use the rev-up because the non - revup harness doesn't have plugs for the Variable Exhaust Valve Timing that defines the rev up motor.
