use the goo gone and take the rest of the glue off. then get some polish and an orbital buffer (or by hand but will take a lot longer) then buff it till it is clear. i usually throw some wax on top to help protect the plastic. depending on how bad the plastic is you might have to use a little bit of compound before the polish.

Just use a cloth and let the product sit on the adhesive for a little bit. Once saturated, it should wipe right off.

Try 3M All Purpose Adhesive Cleaner. Put some on a microfiber towel and just rub the areas lightly. It usually works pretty well to clean off any oils, adhesives, etc.

Just be advised that it's probably not the best for plastics and whatnot, so don't go spraying it all over the place. As I mentioned, apply it to a towel and rub the towel on the headlight.

+1

I forgot about 3M. I've used this also with good results.

That's what we use to make sure the surface on the barrel of our wheels is clean for the weights when doing wheel/tire combos.

DO NOT USE 3M.

It WILL destroy the headlight plastic, but it sounds like the plastic already has permanent damage from the Goo Gone. OP, use a car-specific tar remover next time such as Tarminator. You can sand and polish the headlights, and if that doesn't work you have to start shopping for new headlights.

We were just trying to save you some $$ since most of us have been in your situation. Googone would have worked had you saturated a micro towel and worked slowly. Make sure you wax those headlight with some quality wax so they stay clear....Gary
