How long should I plug the G in for! Help ASAP!
My 2006 G coupe has been sitting for about 2 months in the snow. I didnt unplug the battery because im buying a new one anyways. I couldnt store it in my garage because my roomate had his car in there but hes movin it out so I can do some work on it. How long should I plug my car in for (block heater) before i can safely start it. Also, is it bad to try and boost a battery thats been sitting in the cold and probably frozen? I know it probably wont work but i thought I might as well try.
Sorry if these are stupid questions but I tried searching and couldnt find anything and i dont want to start it and my block cracks or something
Thanks!

I'm not sure which battery charger/starter you have but the one I have has a gauge where you can see how much charge the battery has. When that gets close to 12Volts then you can start it.
Your best bet is to buy a "Battery Tender" They are only about 35 bucks and it will keep your battery at peak charge over long periods without frying it. I use it for my motorcycle and Mustang. A quick charge might not do the trick after so much time. Just don't rush and let your car "Thaw" out for a day in the garage.
All you guys are doing substantially more than I would. I would just try to jump it and call it a day. How long you charge it depends on the the battery and the charger. If you're going to PURCHASE a charger, find one with an volt reading and just charge it to spec...however long that takes.

What have the temperatures been for 2 months where you are?
I would say just jump it off and run with it. The battery shouldn't explode.

Nothing will happen if its frozen. Plug it in for maybe 4 or 5 hours, anything more is doing nothing. If the battery is frozen it wont accept a charge, if the sides have bulged you know its a goner. Even if its "okay" after you recharge it, it's not going to last if at any point it actually did freeze. The chemical makeup is irreversibly changed.
