help will replacement motor fit
Hello, I am new to this site , I hope I am in the correct area for this posting . I just recently bought a 2004 g35 2door couple autimatic with 70,000 kilometer on it, the car itself is perfect.
I bought the car as is, the car turns over but will not start, I had the car inspected and they said the the timing had jumped a tooth causing it to damage the valve. In other words I was told to buy a new motor.
So I just recently bought a 2005 g35 four door with the six speed . Now the big question here does this motor bolt up to my 2004 with or without many changes. I am new to owing a infiniti . I love this car and want to get it up and running. Please any infomation will help

There's no reason the VQ motor from the sedan won't bolt right up to your coupe swaping out a few parts for the trans and ECU....Gary

motor replacement
Thanks for the good news that my motor will fit, you mentioned that I need to take the ECU unit from the 2005 and put it in the 2004 due to the rev motor, Do i need to remove the wiring harness as well from the 2005 or will the ECU just swap over. thanks again for your help

Why not swap in the 6-speed tranny while you're at it? Sure, you'll have to do some fab-work to put in a clutch pedal, etc. and may need a different driveshaft, but I would think you'd enjoy it more if you already know how to drive a MT. You should already have most of the parts you'd need if you bough a whole G35 Sedan A/T.
