I think its only worth it if you have the oil burning issue. Get the warranty and have the short block replaced. I'm assuming this is manufacturer warranty too. Stay away from aftermarket warranties

What's the sound you can hear at idle? I think I have a timing chain problem too. If your tensioner fails badly and you jump timing you're looking at a new engine. I would have bought the warranty personally unless you're comfortable pulling the timing cover and replacing the tensioner/guides

It's a faint rattling sound. If your facing the engine it's forward and to the right.
I'll be talking to my mechanic about that when I'm getting the O2 sensor replaced.

I'm the original owner of my 04 Coupe and I'm on my 2nd Infiniti Elite extended zero deductable warranty. The first one covered me for the following: driver's window motor, door actuator, both rear wheel bearings, valve cover with gasket, replaced rear view mirror, lower control arm, and CD player. The first warranty cost me $1335 for 4 years and clearly it paid for itself. The 2nd warranty is where the first one left off, for an additional 3 years or 36,000 additional miles and cost $2100 with zero deductable. My car now has 52,000 miles. I already will need both compression rods replaced but am holding off because I still have over 2 years left, and I'm certain other things will come up as well. To me it is certainly worth it as everything on our cars is expensive. My warranties were reasonable because I had such low miles at the time. I feel it's a good investment as well as the peace of mind. Our cars are not totally trouble free.

I just took my car to Infiniti and had the following work done. 2 Compression Rods replaced. One spindle assembly with ball joint on front right side. The other spindle was replaced last year along with the entire radio/cd player. Car was then realigned. Everything covered under Infiniti factory elite warranty with zero deductable. This work alone has already paid for my premium of which I still have 2 years and 4 months left.

Boca did they ever deny you of anything or try to say that you caused the problem?

I have an aftermarket/3rd party warranty with ($100 deductible and must be done at Infiniti dealer) . They said my Stillen Sways were causing the problem and had to swap them back to stock before they paid for some bushings/rods replacements. One of my cats was rattling or had some kind of problem and they said it was because of my aftermarket exhaust. Infiniti had my back and told them that Nismo is OEM and not aftermarket. If I could/can I am going to see how much it will cost to re-up. It has paid for itself with my $3K seat replace because ONE motor died

Had my rack and pinion assembly replaced which was covered under the extended warranty, it was worth it for me.

Modifications are mentioned at signing of the Infiniti factory warranty as an exclusion for almsot anything at their whim to turn down a claim.
