I tried to search but couldn't find anything and this may be a dumb question...but here it goes...


I have a 2005 coupe with Navi and I guess its suppposed to let me know when I am running low of fuel. I have taken it down to pretty low levels and had no indication. What am I doind wrong. I pretty much keep it on the map screen. Does it need to be on the fuel screen? Does it come up when the low fuel light comes up? or does it pop up with like 10 miles to go?

I have read the navigation manual (like 300 pages) and it only says that the system will prompt you with any low fuel warnings. Doesnt help me much.

I have navi too (on my '03 Coupe), and mine warns me (red and black screan) soon after my low fuel light comes on in the fuel gauge.

Interestingly, tho, I can go another 60 miles (hwy) after the light and screan come on. I wouldn't recommend that tho.

 

I checked and it says I have 22 miles to empty but I have never received a warning. Hmmm/ Is this something thats in the setup somewhere?

 

The warning doesn't come up until you use up those 22 miles or whatever it says you have left. Because of the small amount of fuel left and the fact that it's based on an overall average those 22 miles could disappear in 10. When if gets down to single digits the warning will come up and if you go to "info" and the fuel menu it will say "***". After that you still have a couple of gallons left.

 

I get a warning when I have 1-2 gallons of gas left.

How many gallons of gas do you put in the car?

 

I have never seen a warning on my navigation screen.....only light that comes on is next to my gauge...

 

Even when you drive down to ZERO miles according to the Nav, you still have a 2 gallons or so left in the tanks. We have 20 gallons tanks, and the light comes on when you have 2-3 gallons left.

The low fuel indicator usually goes on well before the Nav tells you. Kind of a cool feature cause it pops up all the nearest gas station in the area when you're low on gas..

...or you can just run till you're outta gas and give Infiniti Roadside service a call... lol
