Is infinity smart key compatible with our cars?

I was wondering if a new infinity smart key can be programmed instead of the default remote that comes with our G35. I own a 2005 coupe.

My old one:

New key that i'd like to use:

Earlier there was a DIY posted on this forum where Parklife took apart his old remote and installed all internals into the new shell, but i wonder if this is really necessary?
https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...-smartkey.html

Some googling brought me to a webpage that is selling the newer keys and it says it is compatible with G35 coupes 2003-2007

Did anyone actually try the nicer ones from ebay, dealer or any other place?
Did it work or not?

Thank you.

There's a DIY on the forum where you swap the internals from the current one into that new design, and it works fine. I think there's also a member here who does the swap for you and sells them ready to use. So yes, they're "kampatible"

You're saying it's worse that he spelled Infiniti as "Infinity" with the y just like all other applications of the word "infinity"? Worse than spelling compatible "kampatible"? Really?

But to stay on topic: To my knowledge you can't program a new smart key to work with our cars. You need the motherboard and internals found in our smart key. I'll try and dig up the thread where the member is selling these swapped out fobs.

Seems to me...when you own a car you should know how to spell the brand name. It's not like it's a lamborghini murcielago.

the answer is no. you can replace the shell to look like an ikey, but that is it.
