Exclamation Driver seat moving on it own???

Hey guys i always come here for advice on my beloved G.

a couple weeks ago my driver seat first of all the tilt up and down button no longer works and hasnt worked in a couple weeks.

then about a week ago i noticed the recline button stopped working so basically it was just the back/forward button that was working.

well two days ago im driving my car and my seat starts moving up on its own and when i try hitting back it will stop but if i let go sometimes itll keep moving forward.

it became very annoying driving this way so i pulled the fuse to the electrical parts in the fuse box by the parking break and luckily it cut the power to the seat so it stopped.

any idea what i can do to fix? could it be the motors or possibly the actual control on the side?

being that i pulled the fuse out it also controls my clock which is not a big deal but also controls my turn signals on my dash board. the actual turn signals still work but not the small green arrows inside the car so id like to fix the seat if possible so i can hook up fuse again

sounds like there's a short in the switch. If you've got the patience, I'm sure you could chase it down. Seems like the motor works fine. Personally, I HATE and/or LOATHE electrical nonsense so I'd just as soon replace the switch. It seems like it's most likely the switch.

Used some "electrical contact cleaner" on the control and terminals, and got some movement from the tilt up and down which haven't seen in a while.

Used some more cleaner and letting it air dry before I try again

Seat moves back and fourth and got some movement from the other buttons like tilt down and up on the seat moved as well as the tilt for the back part of the seat it moved but still not getting full function.

Thinking because I used some
Cleaner and for some components to work could it be the switch that's the problem??

what do you mean by full function? like seat moves slowly or only some buttons work?

if you used the cleaner and then it worked, and also if other controls only work a little woth the spray cleaner, possible dirty contact points.

that's why it works but doesn't work 100% only a little power is being sent to the motors.

Yeah. If the cleaner gave you some movement, then the switch is probably fine. It's that you're not getting full current from your connectors. I would say clean your connectors THUROUGHLY and then see what you get. Worse case scenario, you replace a switch with the one you have. Best case scenario, you keep that switch until you actually NEED it.

WTF IS WRONG WITH MY SEAT!!!

this morning when i got into my car going to work i sat down and started feeling my bottom part of the seat tilting up, it stopped before it got too high however now my seat is very uncomfortable and the bottom cushion wont tilt down.

im wondering what it could be since the seat does slide back and fourth however the back rest does not tilt back or fourth and also the bottom cushion does not tilt down.

could it be the motor or the switch? being that the motor did turn on this morning and caused my seat to tilt up im guessing the motor still works?

is there anything i can do to manually move my bottom cushion down and disconnect the motor so it doesnt happen again? or is it likely a switch issue?
