Custom Exhaust

I want to install x pipes on my stock g35. Ive seached for an exhaust layout for my car and looks like i would need mid pipes connecting to the x pipe and then a dual catback rear muffler to connect those to? since my car is actually a single pipe running from my y pipe to the rear muffler. or do they actually connect to someting else before they actually get to the rear muffler?

Would spending 1000 plus dollars on a whole new exhaust system be a better idea?

Adding a Magnflow X-Pipe to your OE exhaust won't serve a purpose since you're coming off a y-pipe into a single. The restriction in your OE exhaust is in the cats, replace them with FI HFCs and gain 8 hp along with improving the sound of your G! Replacing your OE exhaust with a high flow dual system will always be better, unless you're cheap/retarded enough to buy a knockoff which will sound terrible and have a very short life....Gary

Well thats what in trying to do. from the x pipe back what would i need to turn it into a dual exhaust myself. ive already found a dual rear muffler so what connects between the x pipe and the rear muffler? just another muffler and some pipes? i figured it might be cheaper going that route when the x pipe is around $90 and the rear muffler i found was around $300. i live in arizona so i dont think test pipes are a go here :/

The muffler is a skunk2 dual rear muffler and its 200 not 300 my bad.. i have looked at the exhausts om ebay but for 300-400 full exhaust they have to sound shitty imo. but are there any brands you know about that are worth it for that low of a price?

You'd be surprise on how many members have this exhaust. They just add a magnaflow x pipe and it does sound good. No other brands are that low of a price. Any name brand exhaust will be $800+ new. You can try and find used ones through the marketplace though.

Honestly just add hfcs and a y pipe to your stock exhaust and then just save for an aftermarket one.

Yes after the X pipe, its just piping back. Unless you want to add resonators in there or something thats where you do it also.
