Convince me to buy a g35!

Hello everybody, first post on a car forum,

After scouring the internet for over two weeks to make my decision, i'd still like an actually owners opinion on this car. So heres the backstory... I currently own a 2008 honda accord coupe ex-L v6, i love the car (though it does desire a little more) but since i bought it used two years ago the car is now pushing 100k. And, the fact that Honda screwed me out of a warranty i will be looking to purchase an extended one soon. Its about that time also to replace the timing belt, and a few others. So just a rough estimate, all of this will cost me about 2-3k (very rough estimate).

On the other hand, my girlfriend of three years dad (just letting you guys know its a reliable source) runs a dealership. He calls me one day to look at a car they won at an auction. I pulled up to the lot, saw the infiniti g35, and my jaw dropped. Its such a beautiful car, with 67k on it (22 rims ) and automatic, it'll come with a 3 year warranty, and any repairs can be done cheaply at his dealer. With a trade in on my accord, i would only have to pay 2k to own this car. My cars value is depreciating a lot over the next couple years and miles, while this can hold a better resale value. So 2k repairs warranty or just a new car?

Of course this is a g35 forum so these answers will obviously be biased haha and i understand that the two cars are out of each others league (luxury vs not)

Being thats its rear wheel drive, how will these handle in the snow? Of course the traction control and a good set of winter tires will help. Living in Pennsylvania the weather can be unpredictable, though i am a very good snow driver

Will these cars, if taken care of properly, last me to 150k+?

Are they reliable compared to the honda brand?

Test driving this car, i felt that it was smooth, and comfortable to be in, but i've done a lot of long distance driving in the accord (to ohio, new york, north carolina, and even tennessee to camp out at the bonnaroo festival), so do any of you feel cramped or really hurting after a long drive?

Sorry for the lengthy write up and questions everyone, its a big decision for me! Thanks in advance

To answer your questions:

I drove my RWD sedan through a blizzard in OH. It did okay---although I had to get pushed out by 2 different sets of people. Any RWD will be difficult to drive in the snow.
Will these cars, if taken care of properly, last me to 150k+?

Absolutely!! I have other nissans that are still running pas 200k(my 96 maxima has 220k and is a beast.)Are they reliable compared to the honda brand?

I'd say absolutely, especially VQ motors. Praised as Ward's best list 8 years in a row IIRC.

Test driving this car, i felt that it was smooth, and comfortable to be in, but i've done a lot of long distance driving in the accord (to ohio, new york, north carolina, and even tennessee to camp out at the bonnaroo festival), so do any of you feel cramped or really hurting after a long drive?

Hard to say as I have a sedan. But I've driven to the top of OH, 4-5 hour drive. And also to FL 11-13 hours, and been very comfy.

EDIT: Yeah and I meant to say those are not 22s

Sorry, a cs in the rear? They ran a carfax report, and something else thats the same from a different site, no accidents

And these probably aren't 22's of course, hopefully not as i don't want to pay for the tires haha but compared to my accords 18's they are bigger. 19 or even 20 perhaps?

Thanks adro!

I would do it. think about it, that 2K you're going to spend on timing belt. you won't need to change the same belt on this car..... chain buddy chain!
You got on good girlfriends dad! some father in laws wouldnt even help most of the time.

I'd say do it and do it quick!! Those are probably 20 inch tires. you still have some meat on those tires.

The only downside is going to be fuel economy. The G will only get about 16-18 mpg compared to the Honda which I'm sure gets much better. On the other hand the G will retain value better and the maintainance will be fairly cheap

Actually, for some reason i'm only getting about 350 miles on a full tank so around 19.3 mpg on the accord. I'm not a lead foot and i hit the eco light a lot

The official mpg for the v6 Accord is like 17-25, so yeah, not going to notice much of a difference in fuel economy.
