wow..that was a close one. coming home from work...on the freeway down the 5 south towards anaheim area. traffic just clears up and im about to make a right lane change and then all of a sudden i see a white lancer evolution fixed up blows right by me. i go right after em and floor it. i end up getting in front of him and were on the 91 east ramp and hes tailgating me. he pulls to the left of me while on the ramp and you can hear his blow off valve. i floor it as the ramp merges on the freeway and so does the evo. i say screw it, and start hitting the brakes. the evo goes in between two suburbans and floors it some more. i look in my rear view mirrior and see a motorcycle with white bright lights getting closer and closer. hes about 50 feet away from me and i notice its a motorcycle cop. im like o crap. he speeds right by me and turns on his lights. he pulls over the evo :P phewwww that was not fun and feel bad for the evo

 

that's rough. Never worth a ticket and points if you ask me.

Evo? We don't play with those kids... They're inferior! ... jk... they're nice cars, but nothing beats the G ... err... at this price range.

 

Evo's are very fun and I have much respect for them, but there are too many Cons for me to BUY one...
-Mitsu will be out of business in 2 years. who will work on the car and warranty it?
-Resale value is crap because you know everyone works those cars hard
-Will a little 4cyl engine w/ 19psi last over 100k?
-Cheap, nasty dash (seats and steering wheel are cool)

 

I wouldn't say nothing beats the G at this price. The Evo hits 60 in the mid upper 4 's (4.4 to 4.8), and the quarter in LOW 13's (recorded at 13.08). Now I love my G, but it isn't the speed demon the Evo is... just my $0.02

In addition, their resale is among the top (along with the STi, and *of course* our G's)

out of business in 2 years? thats unlikely. I am no fan, but I believe that their new eclipse is gonna help save their ****. I am damn impressed by the motor they are putting into this thing. though it doesnt match the horsepower of the G, nor does it the horsepower to weight ratio, but its an awesome motor they put in that sucker.

Yeah, but have you driven one? They ride like *** (I mean, I expected stiff, but it felt like it had the wheel base of a wrangler), the headlight cut off is stupid, and it has no where near the luxury of the G.

I will say though...I have driven nothing to date (including a C5 and S2000) that beats the handing you get with an Evo.

Ya, the new eclipse is just fugly. what happend to mitsu?? the old eclipses were so much nicer. Esp. the GST and the GSX!! after that body style...it went to ****!! my good friend has a V6 RS...its straight nasty. tail lights look cheap and ricey IMO, and those lines in the doors...they got to go...headlights are also ugly. and wats up w/ that chrome gas cap?? not feeling this car....

moral of the the post, don't street race.....

 

evo's are raw sport's cars, G35's are not. I know that lasting over 100k miles shouldn't be a problem at all, i know my hatchback put down 355whp at 14psi on pump gas and still gest 32mph on the highway. Its all about the tuning of a turbo car, if things are conservative, the car can go.

the biggest Con i know of for the evo.....10 gallon gas tank, if you say on the gas, you will go 180 miles, if you are on the highway you could get 280 miles. that's just sad when i a car can't go 300 miles to a tank.
