2007 owner's manual doesn't mention anything to do with changing the timing...

The autolight system can turn on the
headlights automatically when it is dark,
and turn off the headlights when it is
light, and keep the headlights on for 45
seconds after you turn the ignition switch
to the OFF position and open any door
then close all the doors.
If the ignition switch is turned off and one
of the doors is opened and this condition
is continued, the headlights remain on for
5 minutes.

That's all we get.

Automatic headlights off delay You can keep the headlights on for up to 180 seconds after you push the ignition switch to OFF and open any door then close all the doors.
You can adjust the period of the automatic headlights off delay from 0 seconds (OFF) to 180 seconds.
For automatic headlights off delay setting, see ªAutomatic headlights off delayº in the ª4. Monitor, climate, audio, phone and voice recognition systemsº section:
Autolight system:
The autolight system allows the headlights to be set so they turn on and off automatically.
To set the autolight system:
1. Make sure the headlight switch is in the AUTO position q1 .
2. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. The autolight system automatically turns the headlights on and off.
To turn the autolight system off, turn the
switch to the OFF, , or position.
The autolight system can turn on the
headlights automatically when it is dark
and turn off the headlights when it is
light.
If the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF
position and one of the doors is opened
and this condition is continued, the headlights
remain on for 5 minutes.

Or just simply turn the lights "OFF", does the trick every time.

this just happened to me as well. I came home with my lights on auto, parked the car went inside and about 3 hours later I come back out to leave and sure enough...my car is dead. so next time I drove somewhere I left it on auto and monitored it..they didn't turn off. then I noticed even with the lights in the "on" position when I opened my door I didn't hear that annoying beep telling you that your lights are still on..so I'm wondering if for some reason the car thinks the keys are still in the ignition? btw I have an 04' 6mt coupe

You need to check your battery and or the light sensor or the relay that controls the headlight switching on and off while the it's on Auto
