ABS light may not come on. it happened for me because I happened to have a shorted wheel sensor harness. My VDC/SLIP issues came with a check engine light. the cause of my VDC/SLIP issues was a bad throttle body and the ECU had a TPS trouble code throwing the SES light as well. Just do a quick scan for any trouble codes and go from there. start with the easy things first.
