I have 04 g35 coupe and has 112000 miles has HFC and new plugs always oil changed on time. When I accelerate like more than 60% on throttle I hear this noise kinda sounds like two spoons hitting together. Its not rod knock because to quite and not lifter tick either.any ideas?

That sounds like engine ping caused by cheap gas or your timing is off. If you're using premium fuel, try another gas station could be poor quality fuel or low octane. If I lived in St. Louis I'd be using Sonco premium....Gary

I've been wondering when other people would have this sound. I have a lot of miles on my G. I'm pretty positive its my VTC sprockets that needed to be changed. If you do some research, that might be the culprit. If it is the culprit, then you are in the same boat as me. The problem I have with this particular issue is that it only happens when the sprockets get worn. This is usually after many miles of use and it seems that owners are finally getting their G's up on miles I'm curious to know whether this is your problem. Keep us informed.

I'm not to sure if I'm going to put more money into it just yet. Even though it is really annoying. I would really like to know what it is so I can just change the part and not guess at stuff.I'll try finding info on it
