Having used synthetic fluids for a few years without issues, switching from RedLine to AMSOIL after reading published oil charts. Even AMSOIL recommends using OE AT fluids rather than there own! That should be a awakening to those considering using anything else in their Automatic transmissions! MT are totally different, and you can't blame shifting issues on synthetic fluids if you're already having syncro issues. Synthetic clings better and runs cooler which is a good thing for any Manual Trans!

I've noticed some scratching (that nasty gear noise from a bad shift) of 2nd gear recently. This may be due to driver error and not pressing in the clutch long enough when shifting into 2nd. I'm a bit afraid I may have a huge repair bill in my near future. ****.
wow same thing happened with me too, in the 2nd gear. and my car has 129000 miles. im gonna change the transmission fluid and diff fluid.
