Unknown history, change 6mt fluid?
Having used synthetic fluids for a few years without issues, switching from RedLine to AMSOIL after reading published oil charts. Even AMSOIL recommends using OE AT fluids rather than there own!
That should be a awakening to those considering using anything else in their Automatic transmissions! MT are totally different, and you can't blame shifting issues on synthetic fluids if you're already having syncro issues. Synthetic clings better and runs cooler which is a good thing for any Manual Trans!

Hey guys, I'm about to hit 75000miles in my 04 6mt coupe. The history of this car is unknown, but I'm wondering what the pros and cons are with changing the tranny fluid considering it may have never been changed. Same goes for the rear diff.
I've noticed some scratching (that nasty gear noise from a bad shift) of 2nd gear recently. This may be due to driver error and not pressing in the clutch long enough when shifting into 2nd. I'm a bit afraid I may have a huge repair bill in my near future. ****.
