Unhappy Replacing windshield ?

I have a question for those who had their front windshield replace for any reason. When you called up the guy and when he came to replace your windshield did he do all the work as in taking off the windshield wiper cowls ( plastic pieces attached to the wipers) or did you do that work yourself to save on time or labor. Also when the repair man took off your rearview mirror do you think he set it back in place correctly and evenly? Im worried about these things that when i have to replace my front windshield b/c its all pitted, that the guy will do a half a$$ job or break the plastic cowl or not seat the rear view mirror incorrectly.

Thankyou for your input

You are aware that most insurance company's will have your windshield replaced for free? It won't effect your insurance cost! Cracks or excessive pitting are just two reasons for them to replace it. Go with who ever they recommend or ask your stealership who they use, work is 100% guaranteed regardless!

I have had mine replaced. They take care of everything. I think it ran me 230 bucks or so? It has been a while so it is holding up. Most important is to make sure they prime where they cut it off or it will rust. I think I used Safelite?

I too was concerned about the quality of the "come to you" service providers. I ended up getting a recommendation from my local body shop for who they use for their glasswork. Support the local mom and pop shops... they do better work anyway.

I used a place downtown LA that came mobile and did everything (didn't cost extra to come mobile either). I had zero issues with fitment, mirror or quality.

If you're around LA let me know and I'll dig up the paperwork and give you the referral.
