My Various Coupe Newbie & Mod Questions

So after searching the topic , all i saw was people saying they are going to write the BBB and sending emails to infiniti ect......
I need an actual solution because obviously those arent working ... So if you have a solution please say what you did, the cracks are starting to bother me ...
I was thinking maybe bondo or jb weld to seal the crack and then thin coat of dash paint but then i dont know where to get a color that matches? I have an 05 coupe that has a tan/brown interior

Yea i am pretty sure there is no write up on this as it is a pain in the butt. You just gotta start ripping things out. Take pics along the way to remember where everything goes back. Also you might as well make a DIY out of the project for fellow members

Dash's suck. theres no way around that fact. youre either going to have to pay the shop to do it or tackle it yourself. I've done a few dash removals and its not QUITE as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but you have to commit to it and you have to take your time and pay attention to where everything goes. take pictures, take notes of how many bolts go where, and keep things organized. thats the best advice I can give on it. Its kind of enjoyable in a sense, its clean work and you get a pretty big sense of accomplishment when youre done.

DID i mention take your time and be organized? theres nothing worse than completing a dash R&R and having some leftover screws/bolts/nuts. next thing you know youre driving and things start rattling and thats just no fun...

I have a zip file that contains a PDF copy of the 2006 G35 Sedan Factory Service Manual. It has an exploded diagram of the instrument panel and the order of disassembly, with additional detail on the various subcomponents. I know you have the coupe, but I expect that there is a lot that is the same? At least it will give you someplace to start.

The zip file is 94.8 MB. PM me and we can figure out a way to get it to you. I could also send you just the chapter on the instrument panel along with some of the intro chapters that explain what the various symbols mean, etc., etc.

Just found this: Infinitihelp.com has the loose service manual section for the 2006 G35 coupe instrument panel for free on its website in the Knowledgebase. You can get the entire service manual for any coupe by becoming a subscriber.

Dashboard Assembly

I just had my dash redone, buddy did it for me. The labor alone to take apart the dash is about 10 - 12 hours. Like livinglegend said make sure you are meticulous and organized. I wasn't aware of how complex this job was until I saw it first hand, but couldn't be happier with the results. Good luck bro.

Ok so i decided not to tackle this after reading your post however i just called infiniti and they said it only takes 3 hours , they want $350 labor to remove and install a new one but i have to buy the dash from them which is what sucks , it costs $1100 for the dash alone

Chaznad,
I apologize if I scared you away from the project, but we are obviously not talking about the same thing. When I had my dash redone the car was completely gutted. All of the dash was taken out including steering wheel side and any of those pieces. I walked over to my buddies house and the cars interior pieces were everywhere. So If infiniti quoted you 3 hours we aren't talking about the same thing. Good luck with upgrade bro.

Pic attached . Would you guys recommend going lower to close the gap?

Thinking about maybe lowering to close the space , about 2" in the front .. 1.5 in the back , currently on 20's stock suspension ... or should i just leave it stock like this and avoid the hassle
