Transmission Problems

9000 Miles - 3rd gear grinding. Prior to the grinding, 2nd and 3rd gear sometimes seemed to require more than normal force. Dealer is replacing transmission. This is their second G35 Coupe with the same problem, and same solution. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

It's funny how you are planning on your transmission breaking.

Re: Transmission Problems

Maybe " ..."Drive It Like Ya Stole It" from the first day to the last." isn't a good break-in method for the coupe's tranny !! ...dean

Re: Transmission Problems

hey sloneek dont be too worried, percentage-wise im estimating that like 5% of 6mt's have this problem.... at least from these forums, it seems like 5 people overall

Re: Transmission Problems

Hey COUPEDIT03,
Suspect you meant "shouldn't" break to begin with. I agree and never really considered a tranny break-in period or babied a new car engine. I don't drive a new rig too hard out of the gate either. That comes later when more comfortable with the clutch, steering and general vehicle limitations. Acura had considerable issues with their '01(?) AT's. Seems tranny's may be the weakest major component for Japanese car manufacturers. I hope this issue doesn't persist in the G. ...dean
