The heat shield is the cover on your OE converters or it could be an exhaust leak. Take your G to your local muffler shop and ask them to check your system. They'll be able to weld your heat shield and it won't cost much....if that's what we're hearing....Gary

Not yet, I will be taking it to a muffler shop tomorrow so they can take a look at it and hopefully get it fixed.

Right converter? As in cat? But wouldn't the check engine light be on? I'll try a shop later this week on my day off.

If you have a jack at home then try jacking the car up a bit so you can reach the heat shield with a screw driver, turn the car on and then push on the heat shield with the screw driver a bit just to see if the rattle stops. Mine was making a somewhat similar noise and that's how I figured out it was the head shield. I ended up taking them off and the car has been rattle free since then, well not rattle free but at least THAT rattle is gone!

Yes the cat, they lifted the car and started hitting the exhaust system. When they hit the right cat we heard the rattle. He asked if the check light was on but it has never came on, not sure if the check light has to be on in order for the cat to be bad.

"HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY
This warranty is for 4 years or 60,000 miles,
whichever occurs first. The warranty begins the
date the vehicle is delivered to the first retail buyer
or put into use, whichever is earlier. Additionally,
the engine control module/onboard diagnostic
device and catalytic converter(s) listed below and
indicated by an “
•” under the caption “Warranty
Parts List” are covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles,
whichever occurs first."

I got if of the infiniti warranty information booklet and its looks like my catalytic converters are covered for 8n years or 80,000 miles. Please somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Nice! thanks for all your input! How does the emissions warranty work? And will it work if I am the second owner?
