g35 2005 questions

Hi g35driver,

I'm pretty new to the g35 world and I have a couple of questions.

I bought last year a 2005 g35 coupe 6mt and the ride was pretty low AMS Coilover,20inch rims, rolled fender and stuff, I liked the look of it but the ride was insanely rough, So I checked online for more confortable setup and I decided to buy the KW Variant 1 Coilover System and SPC Camber Kit I have 25mm spacer and now got the 19inch volk wheels from the infiniti premium package.

With all that done and correct alignement, new tire,etc...I thought my ride would be better but damn it is still pretty rough... it is better but is there any miracle I can do to make it more confortable... I had an old mazda protege with 2 shock broked and it feel more smoth than my g...

On brand new asphalt the ride is great but as soon as its a bit cracky it bash my back...

I though damn I must be getting old but I lowered 2 of my friend cars a WRX & s14 and it feel really smoooth...

On a good point my G handle really nicely now :P

My other probleme is minor but last day after a long ride my sunroof just started to make weird noise when open and closing...Like if it was low on power it started to move kinda slow.

Well thanks guys I love this forum hope you can help me out a bit. !

Here is the only pic of what the car look atm,

If you are worried about a smooth ride get the stock suspension.

not sure about the sun roof maybe someone else knows more.

You will need to adjust dampening and ride height to get the right feel that you are looking for. 19" and 20" tires have very little sidewall and you will feel everything. 18" tires have much more cushion (sidewall) to them to help dampen the road. You need to choose between handling, comfort and appearance.

Probably go back to stock or drop down to 18"s if you need more comfort, as long as nothing is wrong with the car causing the bumpy ride.

Your coilovers should be adjustabe not just in height but rebound too so you can dial a little soft into your suspension. Sunroof, when was the last time you cleaned and oiled the railings? That needs to be done at least once a year and that's for cars that are garaged....Gary

I have 2003 and I purchased it as a 1 owner car. I got the complete service history from Infinity since that's where it had alsways been taken care of. I must have 6 records of the sunroof making noise and all they did was clean and lube it, everytime. It works great and sounds super quiet, but it makes me a little nervous that my time is coming and I will have to do the same thing. Lube it (that;s what she said).

@Knightstik Ahaha thanks
@ garyc no damper settings on the kw variant 1 but they are supposes to be set for street and confort.
And im scared that changing the coil wont do a thing...
It seems like a rough car maybe just not suited for me.

They're not set for comfort, they're set for a mix between handling and comfort. Should've bought the V2's, so you could adjust the ride as soft as you want it. Even could've gone with Stances for cheaper and adjustability. Is your car re-built? I can tell it's been in an accident from the back judging by the lines of the panels and the crappy re-spray job. That could affect it as well.

My car rides pretty nicely on the 19's.

Lol why would he want to downgrade from his V1's to a very clearly inferior Stance setup?

OP if you want to keep the handling and drop I would possibly consider going down to 18's to give yourself some extra sidewall for comfort.
