For what you pay for an "aftermarket" warrenty, you can probably put in a short block.

Well I read it after the fact but i checked it this morning when the oil was cold and its back to the F so im good ... I actually added one quart of the same synthetic oil and another quart of lucas synthetic oil stabilizer for poops and giggles since i read alot of great reviews , plus it wouldnt harm .... but technically its 2 quarts

I tried the Lucas oil route on an engine that was using oil... Didn't do anything but increase the price of the oil it was drinking. That stuff is stupid expensive if I remember correctly. Op, do done research on a good shop in your area, find the best place to buy the new block, and start saving... My 2 cents

I honestly dont even wanna think about it dying right now .... i just spent way too much to think about an engine swap ... everything runs perfect besides the oil consumption so until something goes wrong ill keep topping off... that should be ok right?
Im assuming itll be ok since they come from the factory eating oil so as long as i maintain properly , check oil levels , change every 5000 miles , i should be good ?

When you get low on oil, just flip the switch and top it off

I know its crazy, but Have u went back to the seller? Use 10w-40 conventional is gonna be best. Sorry it happened but u dont suffer along. Consumption is proportional to driving. U should search about checki g the pcv valve and addi g a catch can.

And I thought about selling my MT for an AT cause I was down almost 3/4 quart at 1700. But VQs r either sippers or drinkers.

There's an they can cause OC! Pull your PVC valve, shake it....if it rattles it's good. (clean it anyway) If not you can clean it with carb cleaner. Never any reason to replace the PVC valve since they're so easy to clean. Synthetic oil doesn't need additives, it's perfect....Gary

What are the long term negative consequences to just topping off the oil constantly if any?

"So you have. Now been driving it hard since day 1""YOU Have just bought a 90,000 and you are unhappy about its OIL USAGE. you say "
the long time posters are tired of your kind of Posts
...The next post we hear from you will read.....i did not check the oil stick for 4 weeks and now the engine makes these clumping sounds (rod bearings run dry because to little oil in crankcase)
the only advice I can make is change oil to 15W40 and drive normal you might be surprised just how well this great car can perform when it is not beat by the likes of you.
