Thought the car was to immobilize when the alarm is activated.

GTR Front Bumper

Ok I just got this in and try installing it to my car but it was a hassle because it is an aftermarket bumper and it does need some modification. Where would I go about to sell this bumper besides Ebay? I just don't have the money to fix it up atm.
Any suggestions?

My suggestion is to burn it so that monstrosity doesn't end up ruining another G.

Hey folks!

I have a really random question.

I'm going to be (fingers crossed) signing the papers on my first g in the morning. 2006 sports package!

What didn't cross my mind, was to ask if it had intelligent key.. It has every other option, aside from NAV, orange stitching for sports package, all that stuff.

Because I won't be driving the car until the morning, and I'm up late in excitement, I was wondering if I could answer my question just by looking at the pictures.

Something I know the Intelligent keys have, is a little black button on the door handle, but do ALL G's have this?? Or have I actually figured out what sets the iKey apart.. Not that it truly matters and I know I'll be driving the car in the AM, but I figured I'd at least ask!

And please feel free to tell me if I'm incredibly off base and clueless... Because I just might be!

I believe the orange stitching only came in the 6MT versions. Intelligent key is part of the premium package. Reference this page once you're with the car or after you purchase it. http://infinitihelp.com/models/2006/...ifications.php

That's a great resource. I had been looking for something like that.

This is the car in question, and it is listed as coming with the Premium package. So I should think it has the intelligent key system?

I honestly have no idea. Since it's optional I guess you'll just have to wait and find out. But that spec sheet should help you with most of your questions for the most part.

My car in particular apparently came (from the dealership) with sports sides but not the sport front or spoiler (both of which I honestly dislike anyway). So be aware that some cars may have some options/features and not others.

Redguitarfreak,

If its a manual transmission it does not come with the intelligent key. That's the least of

what you should be concerned about.

The engine in it would then be what is called the Rev Up engine. Look at the instrument

panel and you should see between the speedometer and tachometer the word REV.

You can go toYouTube and put in 06 Infiniti G35 rev up engine and look at the dashes

in those car to see what it looks like with the word REV in the middle of the dash. The

rev up engine only came in 2005,2006 and 2007 and with only manual transmissions.

Before i would sign anything i would get the history on the car as this engine has issues

with oil consumption.

Check and see if the engine ( the longblock or shortblock ) has been replaced using

Car Fax.

Try also to find out if you can contact the previous owner since the car is at a

dealership. What type of store is it, a used corner lot store or a large dealership ?

This is one car with the oil consumption issue you want to be careful and not anxious to

sign on the dotted line. There s been many members on this forum and others that have

had their engines replaced and its not cheap if the money comes out of your pocket !

You could search under Rev Up Engine to read what others have posted about this car

with the above engine. I also have an 06 with the rev up engine and its shortblock was

replaced last year with only 6400 miles on it. It was done last year with only a month

left on the power train warranty, but failed the oil consumption test in Sept 2012. If it

was not for the forums i would not have known of the engine issue since the dealership

kept lying to me about any issue with my engine when i would ask for the last 3 yrs.

Check the tailpipes and see if they are black, this is a good sign its consuming oil, but

the dealership may of cleaned them so it does not show.

How many miles are on it and what are they asking for the car ?.

If they will not give you the history of the car thru Car Fax, walk away !

Hope this helps , better to be safe than sorry.
