Looking for Headlights

Hi,

I joined to see if anyone knows where I can find headlights for a 2003 G35 Coupe. The ones on the car are foggy and sanding them and doing the kits to make them clear didnt last very long. Im looking to purchase OEM or Aftermarket lights that look stock. Where is a good place to purchase them that doesnt want over $1k ?

Thanks

Are you wanting projectors or non-projectors. If anyone were to make oem style headlights for our cars they would make bank. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the only oem style headlights are... oem. If you dont want to spend 1k for them, the best thing to do is look around for a used set. I have seen a few used set for sale in great condition for around $600-$800. Another alternative is to look for cheaper non-projectors and get them retrofitted.

It is common for people to polish them, then apply an adhesion promoter followed by a 2k clear coat. Not rattlecan clear but a real auto body clear that has a hardener. Often if you talk to a body and paint shop they'll spray the 2k clear at the end of a job so the cost can be reasonable.

If you were happy with the results (if not the durability) of the polishing, you could try something like JetSeal 109. If it holds up great if not you're only out $40. Still cheaper than a new set from Nissan.

If you Google "headlights clear coat" you'll find a lot of threads covering different techniques. Here is an interesting one on AutoGeek.net. They use a UV clear from HD.

I just use a 3M headlight kit on mine and wax em with a synthetic wax like Ice or NXT. They still look good.

Good luck
