I'm just wondering if the upgraded sound system with the premium package is much better than the standard one. I would like a sun roof, but do not need all of the other features of the premium package. I am basically only interested in the stereo upgrade aspect. Any insights would be great. Thanks!

 

Bose isnt spectacular stuff, just decent
Ive heard both and dont think theres a huge difference

 

I would order or buy one without the Bose system. I am planning on upgrading my G35 Coupe Bose system in the near future. All of the 6 speakers and Bose amp will be for sale if you have any interest. Please let me know.

I listened to two coupes on saturday at the dealer, one with the "bose" system and one without, both were 05 coupes. believe it or not, the non-bose stock system sounds better. for whatever reason, the bass was much tighter and everything more clear.

for this listening test, i brought a couple of my own cds so i could hear the exact same songs in each car.

 

It doesn't matter. You can't get one without the premium package! I ordered mine in october (the 1st one the dealership ordered) without the premium package and they built it with it, they didn't even tell the sales manager before they did it. When she pressed them on it they told her they don't make them without the premuim package right now. An extra $2K that I wasn't planning on spending, but my wife does appreciate the dual climate control.

 

well you got took then, because the dealer in austin has a brand new automatic 05 athens blue coupe without the premium package and another user just posted a pic of his new manual 05 coupe (with 19 wheels) and no premium package!

 

Sound wise their about the same you get a little more bass with the bose. Its cheaper just to add a subwoofer in the trunk. If you dont want the sunroof, dccontrol, homelink, the goodies, then dont get it.
