Review of 05 coupe

I was browsing the net and came across a review of the 05 G 35 coupe on the Yahoo Autos site. Here is their conclusion:

AutoSite's Advice:
"The Infiniti G35 Coupe is a proper rear-wheel-drive sporting machine that comes very close to decoding the DNA that makes a BMW so desirable. Ultimately, though, the Infiniti G35 Coupe can't quite match the driving perfection demonstrated by that unbeatable hobgoblin of German luxury sport coupes, the 3-Series. But the G35 isn't far behind, and makes up for its lack of raw visceral appeal in many ways, including price".

Are we that behind even from the BMW 3 series, not including the M 3?

I'm sorry, but when I want a car review, I surely don't turn to Yahoo...do you?

the G35 may outhandle, outpower the 3 series but, it definitely falls short in terms of luxury.

I think the leather in the G (and in many other cars priced way below the 3 series) is significantly superior to the 3 series. I was very disappointed when I checked one out two years ago. Plus, I think the interior in general really could use a makeover.

Plus, as part of being luxurious, styling-wise there is no comparison. I parked next to a brand new 330 the other day and honestly, I felt bad for the guy when he would come out to get his car because when you look at the G next to the 330 the 330 just looks dated and old and completely non-sporty.

im sorry but BMWs are driven in SI by Blind Married Women (no flame to the female drivers) and the men that drive beemers arent exactly "good people". ive got this notion that Infiniti owners are more down to earth.

as for the cars, infiniti has caught up to the beemer in some areas, mostly in performance, i think that the new 3series (or the standard issue punk metrosexual vechile) will be further away in price and performance. for the same money ur getting the 325 and im sorry im not paying 45k for a 330i. WILL NEVER HAPPEN

i think its beemer that has to catch up, the G35 is what the Beemer WAS AND IS SUPPOSED TO BE

dawg, you got it all twisted. thats a pretty harsh statement no matter how you wrap it. That kind of comparison can say a lot about a person (of which I hope your not). you cant go around generalizing people because of what kind of car they drive! I know of some G35 drivers that are so damn cocky like nothing else could blow the doors off of it.

The car doesnt make the person.......This has been brought to you in part by Dr. Phil. Also boy Wu-Tang Financial, and all products brought to you by Spishak.

Interesting statement. I guess it depends on what you consider "luxury." The 330 does offer some luxury features that the G35 doesn't and vice-versa. However, I'd rather have a 6 in-dash cd player, than headlight washers. Basically, both cars offer all the "major" luxury equipment one should expect in an entry level luxury car. Do a direct comparison on Edmund's and you'll see. Actually, the 2005 models addressed the G35's few shortcomings like memory seats and even added a few that aren't available in the 330 like power telescoping steering wheel. I'm a ex-E46 owner, so I can say without bias that the seats in the G35 are more comfortable than the 330. It seems Infiniti has beaten BMW at its own game.

G35 indeed outpower 3-series but the interior quality especially the leather G35 is still below the 3-series. About the price, remember the 3-series comes with 4-years/50,000 maintenance. So if you wanna compare the price, compare with price of 3-series minus $2,000 (the price you pay for G35 maintenance in the first 50,000 miles).
Styling, it depends on you, however you should compare G35 with with facelift 3-series otherwise the 3-series will look outdated and it won't be fair. 330 with performance package looks beautiful IMO. What G35 lacks is a projector headlight.

im sorry i should have said FROM MY EXPERIENCE. interesting note my friend got hit by a 530i at a red light. guess who was driving it and claimed it was not her fault that he reversed into her
(he rocks an EXT caddy, and reminded HE WAS AT A RED LIGHT) its that type of driver that is becoming MORE and MORE the norm in BMW. Granted up to this point that kind of driver has been present in every other brand MINUS bmw on a frequent basis. im sorry i stand by my comment because of my experiences

i don't understand why ppl and/or publications hail the 3-series as the greatest in its class (with exception to the m3). everyone i've known who has owned a 3-series hated it. furthermore, in my area in cali, the 3-series is known as the beamers for regular folks because just about anyone can and do own one.

G35 vs BMW 3 Series

Having owned a BMW and now purchasing a G35 coupe, I believe they both are wonderful cars.
The BMW has a perfectly balanced suspension, which, quite frankly, the G35 doesn't have. The BMW's dash is much nicer compared to even the 2005 G. But, in most other areas, the G wins.
