2005: 12.6-inch/12.1-inch ventilated discs with 4-wheel, 4-channel ABS
I drove a '05 6MT this weekend and the difference is pretty big. To me the brake feel/ feedback from the brembos is much better. Plus, they look like crap next to the brembos. I really didn't care for the '05s brakes. As far as perfomance the '05s still stop the car and that's pretty important.
I didnt mean to start a grudge match here, I just wanted to get some factual comparisons between the two systems. Those Brembos that the older G's came with are pretty sweet, but they arent cool enough to want an 04 over an 05. Thanks for all the feedback though.

I know with tuning an engine, you gain some and lose some, but I hate the 10 ft-lb loss. Rule of thumb says you dont really feel a diff up to 10% torque loss. Dont know how true that is, but still

To be honest the '05 felt a little weak in the knees around town. Once the cams kicked in it may have pulled a little harder to red line. My car has been modded since I got it so the feel between the two cars was night and day. I like the new interior and hate the upgraded 6MT. It feels like I'm shifting a Kia there's no sporting feel to it. As an over all review I'd have to say the '05 is softer around the edges.....more up scale/ luxury and less sporting.

ya if i had my pic, id take the 04 6MT, even w/ the 18hp difference....have driven both 04 and 05 6MT's...dont really care for the new positioning on the analog clock either on the 05's

I agree....Infiniti went for the creature comfort improvements such as the power recline on the seat, aluminum trim, and lighted switches on the steering wheel, and dropped the Brembos so the price only went up a moderate amount. The wheels have a more luxurious look (similiar to other luxury cars) and less of a sporty look to them (IMHO). Even the color changes (Athens, Lakeshore, Serengeti) have a generally softer and less sporty feel to them than the colors they replaced (once again IMHO). I'm sure the '05 brakes work just fine, but they could have at least put an Infiniti logo on them or done something to dress them up a little.
