Get it done professionally since they will fix the curb rash as part of the job. It's only about $700 and only G35 fans will know that they're not aftermarket wheels. Had mine done a year ago and I absolutely love them. Your OEM 19's are the absolutely best fitting wheels for this car.

another option for you is to have them powder coated. If you can do without your car for a couple days or have an extra set of wheels to roll around on for a few days have your tires removed and PC the wheels. most shops that do powder coating will do a wheel for about 60-75$ each. pretty cheap and it will last a HELL of a lot longer than rattle can or plastidip.

OEM wheels should jus be left alone. All OEM wheels I've ever seen painted black look ghetto

I agree with you in regard to painting them...but there are a lot of us that have curb rash that needs to be fixed. I've been on the fence about whether to redo mine myself and try to get the color as close as possible to the original color or having them professionally redone.

Unfortunately I live in the city and with low profile tires curb rash is a fact of life.

nothing wrong with fixing the wheels and repainting them close to oem color. its when people paint them to make them appear aftermarketish . its as bad as the kid painting his hub caps

I've seen a lot of people paint their OEM 19" Rays black or gunmetal. I think it looks okay, I've never been a fan of those wheels to begin with though. But it is a good alternative to aftermarket wheels.

Thanks for all of the tips guys. Work has been busy, a bit hectic I should say as I wanted to have these done by now, depending on the weather I hope to take some time a few days off at the end of this week or early next week and hope to get this done in an afternoon. I will post pics, if nothing else, before and afters. It is mainly the inside of the rims that are gross and with shiny new rotors on the back, freshly painted ones on the front and newly painted calipers (black on a black coupe) the inside of the rims are really bothering me. There is some minor curb rash on one or two of the rims to. Anyway, I think I will be going with paint and will let you know how it all turns out. I think this is close to OEM color and will look just simple and clean.

Please post pics of how it turns out. Einszett makes top notch stuff. I like the OEM color and was afraid the German silver color is going to be too different...though if you do the whole wheel that's kind of a moot point.

I will be doing the whole wheels. I don't know of anyone that found an exact match of the color (it has been said Infiniti will not divulge such info, how nice of them ) and I have seen pictures on the web of some rims done using this paint and at least from what I can tell by pictures, they came out looking really nice (and close to OEM color, I think). Ill post pics when I get to this.. hopefully within the next week or so.. worst case, the end of next week.
