i agree with everything here so far...bought my car at 71000 and had to put a little money into it since the clutch is on its way out, but this is such a timeless look that this car will be with me for a long time after its paid off...

No clutch here! How much do you think a new catalytic converter will cost? I saw one for ~65.

PLEASE don't get a Prius. The road is full of those ugly cars.

On another note: I have a 2004 G35 and had a rotten smell but it was coming from the inside but it was from the A/C. If you have it coming from the vents too then you have to spray this stuff called Frigi-fresh. I get it from Napa. Spray it from the external inlet vents near the lower part of your windshield while the a/c is on. Spray about a half can then turn the a/c off and let it sit overnight. It kills the toxic mildew that gets stuck in your vent system. Then don't use your dashboard circulation setting much for awhile because moisture sits in there and gets stuck and starts rotting..

Ok, ok no Prius! Thanks, everyone for allaying my fears. Thank you also, lilpilgrims, but I took it to the mechanic today and the catalytic converter is fine. The smell isn't frequent (I've noticed it maybe 5 times) and the guys at the shop said it was just ordinary exhaust.

Keeping him!

Oh boy, I buy fuel at Martin's (also get fuel "perks"). Perhaps it's time to switch.

the way cars are built these days, yes 04' included in that statement, 100k is merely breaking the car in, if you properly maintain the car, it'll go at least another 50-60k before you need to start updating parts, having said that, none of this is true if you don't make sure to at least look everything over at the 100k milestone.....annnnd on that bombshell.
