G35 coupe true dual exhaust

Hi all, first post here.

I had to replace my stock exhaust system recently because it rusted out. I went to an exhaust shop, and when they had it up on the hoist, noticed that it was a fake dual...just a Y pipe into a 2.5" collector, into one muffler, split exit. Kinda strange for a car that makes 300hp. I had them install a true dual system off the cats, 2.5" s/s piping straight through to a pair of Eclipse mufflers. I like the sound, but it is a bit drony and loud, as I expected. I also noticed (and expected) a loss of low end torque (guts).

My question: Will installing a pair of resonators in-line help with the noise, and maybe restore some of the low end torque I am missing, or did I go too big with the piping? Some decent aftermarket kits (Greddy et al) are 2.5", so that's what i based my number on. Also, the stock piping is 2.5".

Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks!

Research is your friend!

Exhaust company's spend hundreds of hours testing their systems before they're ever put on the market making sure they're not too loud or don't have rasp. Your mistake was having someone make a system for you. Did they include a crossover? If not have them install a Magnflow x-pipe, that will quiet your system and blend the exhaust pulses from each bank.
