Unhappy Starting issues 2006 g35 coupe

I cannot start my car. The valet key seems to be the only one to start it, and maybe only sometimes. the car cranks with the key fob but will not start. The key fobs lock/open the doors but will not start the car.. Battery is fine by the way. Please help!

Is it your car? Did you steal it and are now using us?

No I did not steal it. I bought this car 2 months ago. I tried wiring some interior lights straight to the battery with a switch and I could not start it after. I know I shouldn't have done this but I need help. I'm waiting for my elite warrant to kick in but I can't wait anymore

It was a joke, give it a little while. There are a lot of smart memebers that will come to your rescue.

You probably fried an electrical circuit, blew a fuse, or fried the ECU. Our cars are very finicky when it comes to electrical work, so re-trace your wiring to see if you can identify any burned connections, then check any fuse that might be related. There are fuse boxes in the driver's footwell and in the battery compartment (2). You need to use a fuse tester since the fuses might not be visible blown.

Hope you didn't fry your ECU, that's an expensive repair.

How would I know if I fried the ecu blue dream? Everything electrical wise , works. I checked all the fuses with a tester and they seemed fine.

I would think it would have to be towed to the dealer and hooked up to the Consult 2 machine that only they have but not 100% sure. I would have guessed you tripped the immobilizer somehow, but the fact it will start randomly with just the valet key might rule that possibility out.

So I'm just grasping at straws, my electrical knowledge of our cars is pretty limited. A trip to the dealer might be the only way to see what's going on.
