Question Weight Distribution of 05 G35 coupe

On the infiniti website it says 53/47. On nissannews.com and in the brochure it says 54/46. Anybody have any idea which one is right?

But then all that changes with amount of gasoline and drivers weight and anything in trunk or different wheels tires. Not sure if 35-40 pounds divided by 2 front tires is significant.........1%. As drivers might be 100 pounds or 300.

the coupe is 53/47 the sedan is 54/46

though that doesn't matter as much as what the balance is while in use, under accel it is near 50/50 - close to the same as you go into a corner.

The balance doesn't mean anything when static (standing still or cruising at a fixed speed. It is only when you apply a force (accel, cornering, braking, etc) that the balance/distribution matters

Yeah. 53/47.

I took mine out in the last snow (just an inch or two of sleet & snow. I have Blizzak LM-22s btw) and it is wonderfully balanced. I took it to a big open parking lot and practiced controlling it. The LM-22s were money. I only slid or lost traction when I wanted to (ie, when I gave it extra throttle to break it loose) and it was so smooth and enjoyable to gently rotate around the lot.

One percent is really nothing. It really wasn't all that important as more for my fyi. Supposedly the best for a rwd sports car is around 40/60 like a Ferrari. Thanks for the replys.

The weight distribution changed? I could've sworn my 04' was advertised as 52/48

I believe even the Z has a 53/47 weight distribution.

Ferrari and most supercars actually have a bias to the rear wheels.
Ferrari F430 43/57
Lamborghini Gallardo 44/56
I also believe F1 cars have this bias, but I could be wrong. I am by no means an expert. From what I understand neutral handling is easier to drive while a rear axle bias can give you better performance but at a higher skill level. Somebody can jump and correct me at any time.

What is much more importantant [than static weight distribution] is the POLAR MOMENT of Inertia. How much weight [%] hangs in front/behind the center [of contact patch] of the front / rear wheels.
