Vibration Noise after Tire Replacement

Hi All,

I found an old post on my issue but no answer in the thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...re-noises.html

I am trying to figure out the issue to a problem I'm having after replacing my tires. I have 18" aftermarket wheels and recently got the tires replaced. When i got them replaced the shop told me that I was missing two hub-centric rings and so until I get that I'll feel a slight vibration in my car. I got the correct size rings from the manufacturer and had them replaced but I'm still getting a vibrating noise. If i turn the music up and tune out the noise, the car is riding fairly smooth with the exception of a slight vibration. It gets worse when I switch lanes or turn the wheel.

Shop mentioned I "might have a bent rim" which COULD be true but likely not since this issue started immediately after the tire install and I haven't hit my car anywhere. Any thoughts on what the issue may be? Any help would be much appreciated!

Do you notice it more in the rear or front?

Sorry forgot to add in it seems like it's coming from the front and gets worse when I turn the wheel to switch lanes.

Aftermarket wheels, new hub-centric rings, my money is on them not balancing the new tires properly.

Find a place with Hunters Road Force Balancing
http://www.gsp9700.com/search/findgsp9700.cfm

Ask for the road force balance, if the vibration still continues its not your tires/rims

Thanks for the info, I wanted a few opinions before I start dropping money on balancing. Do you think its balancing even though there is a noise at lower speeds? More like a 'whoop whoop' until I hit about 40 then becomes more of a vibration noise..

In that case, it could be a dented rim as well. On my old car one rim was dented on the inside and really felt like it was out of balance. After a while I noticed a flat spot on the tires that made that noise more pronounced. Only found the flat spot by rolling the rim across the garage after the tires were removed.

If you can, remove the wheels and carefully inspect both sides for any dents. If they're round, then have them re-balanced.

After listening to a few youtube videos, it looks like it might be a wheel bearing issue since when I turn slightly to the left it gets worse and slightly to the right it gets better...don't know how that coincided with getting my tires replaced though

Anyone recommend a good shop in the DC metro area I can take this issue to? Preferably in Montgomery County...live in the North Bethesda/Rockville area. Thanks.

You're in this area? Take it to Billy at
Laurel BP
311 Washington Boulevard
Laurel, MD 20707

Very honest guy, does alignments and tire mount & balancing for a lot of the NGC members. Only place I trusted with my Vossens. He also has the road force balance if you actually need it.
