when you fix the fan did you replaced the motor or just clean it. I only asked because when I had that problem i figured if one motor went bad the other may not be too long from going bad so I just replaced the entire fan assembly. its been almost a year now since then and have never had a problem. Only other thing i can think of is the thermostat not opening and closing properly therefore not kicking on your fans at all. Other than that I got nothing lol

im still interested in hearing what you did with the thermostat when you say you removed it a long time ago.

Smoke from the rear doesnt sound too good, could be a possible blown head gasket.

Please listen to others and at least go have a mechanic check it out and tell you what the problem is. At least then you'll know when you need and can DIY. No point in guessing and randomly replacing parts based on what some noobs say here.

What is the car doing now when it overheats as far as symptoms and driving conditions in which it does and doesn't do it?

I would say F it and take it to the dealership and let them deal with it. That's just me. If not a local mechanic will do.

couple things to consider that are sources of issues in all newer emissions controlled cars...

1) O2 sensors going bad can thro off A/F ratio and cause an overheat....
2) check your relays & grounds... you'd be syuprised what havoc those simple things can create when overlooked.
3) you mention smoke right side of motor... is this in the engine bay coming off the block or after the header... need to accurately describe where the smoke is coming from... Also provide smoke color... that tells alot too
