04 6MT feels heavy when accelerating

hey, hopefully someone can help me out. i just hit 90k and when I hit the gas pedal it feels like im pulling weight. I know its not normal, I have been driving it for a couple years now.
here is the kicker. If i give it 1/4th gas it drives normal. when i press any harder or floor it, it feel like the throttle response is delayed and i have no power.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You must replace the plugs at 106K, I think, also, your injectors may need cleaning if you haven't been running a good "first tier" gas.

Does the car sound any different in terms of exhaust note?

Your description of the symptoms reminds me of what people usually report when their Cat or Cat's are clogged.

No, the exhaust sounds the same. idk if its relevant but it also sound like the throw out bearing is rattling.

Is your clutch slipping at all or is it just not revving when you're heavier on the throttle?

No the clutch feels fine. I did the 40 mph and pop 5th and it just kept accelerating. With RPMs normal.

You might want to try running a can of fuel injector cleaner through a tank of gas the next time you fill up.... although these things generally aren't miracle-workers. You said you have no Check Engine Light on right? What about other lights on the dash... such as SLIP/VDC or Tire Pressure warning? All of these being on at the same time can indicate a problem as well which could be putting it into limp mode (although I'm pretty sure the CEL comes on with them too).

probably couldn't hurt to run fuel system cleaner, but I back the comment on replacing the plugs...

If you haven't replaced em in the last 30k miles they are long overdue.

If they are the original plugs and not some cheap aftermarket replacements, they aren't overdue. These cars come with 100K mile iridium plugs rather than your typical 30K ones of yesteryear.

OEM plugs are the NGK Laser Cut Double Platinum plugs Part # 6240 not the iridiums. Standard Platinums & iridiums are OE replacements, but not OEM... ( slight difference in quality huge difference in price. OEM plugs tend to run between 10-14 bucks EACH)

I checked my maintenance guide & first plug replacement is 105,000 mile 84 month checkup, so I stand corrected there.
