So I've been diagnosed with the deadly 1716 code.. Failing Turbine Sensors within the valve body. Dealer is telling me to get the VB replaced + labour we are looking at approx $3,000.

Symptoms: SES came on this week.. then I started to notice a 'jerk' when acclerating from low speeds (first few gears..say 30km/hr to 40, to 60) However ! I will only experience this jerk the first few moment of the drive .. then it goes away for the rest of the trip until the next ignition.

If the valve body is IN the tranny, can I just do a swap ? I located a tranny in good condition for about $700...

do those VB upgrade kits override this problem I am having?

any other cheaper alternatives I can consider here?

My car is a 04 G with only 108k KM on it..still plan to drive it for a few years

The vb is in the tranny and the tcm is also in the trans if you have a 03 to 04.5 car

I don't know if you would call it inside the trans as much as bolted to the bottom of the trans. It is item no 2 in the drawing
