Painting Stock Rims Black. Opinions?

Hey guys I think I am going to be painting the stock rims black tonight, along with tinting the heads/tails. What do you guys think? I just don't want my G looking trashy. I'm going for a nice sleek black look.

It's been done a million times, and it really doesn't look very good. It depends on which oem wheels you have, but I would suggest just saving your money and buying some black wheels. Also for the headlights you should paint the housing rather than tinting. looks cleaner and won't affect your light output.

I painted my '03 G35 rims flat black, they look great but do Plasti Dip, It will take longer but if you don't like the outcome you can always peel it off.

Honestly if you're dead set on painting the stock wheels black, just get them powder coated. You can tell when wheels have been rattle canned or plastidipped, and that's not a good thing.

If you take your time it will come out good, You honestly can't tell if they have been plasti dipped unless you start picking at it. But either way its up to the owner. Some cars look good with it and some just look dumb.

Nah man. You got it wrong. Plasti dip not only the "rims" but dip the tires and windows too. My boys did it on their ride. Saved mad dough from having to pay for tint.

Don't do it!!! If you want black rims just save up and buy some with wider specs! I've seen too many Z's and G's with it and a lot of them failed horribly

+1. Take a minute and browse the pics of black rides on here with all the different rims. You'll eventually see "it".

Unless you have the 19" Rays, yeah just get new wheels. Personally I have the 350Z v1 track wheels powder coated and they look great.

Do whatever makes you happy. I considered plastidipping mine cause they're so curbed up / painted OEM's would be a upgrade from curbed ones (before anyone attacks, they came curbed up from the previous owner years ago) but said **** it/ain't nobody got time for that.

People still think they're driving $30k cars made by Ferrari's luxury division, not 10 year old cars that go for the same price as Civics (and are on the road as much as civics). Seriously, not everyone wants/CAN buy volks that cost half the price of the car.

While I'm all for doing what makes you happy, I'm against people telling other people that using cheap tacky modifications is what they want/should do. I don't know where you got Ferrari's luxury division from I think you need to put down the crack pipe. and while it's true that not everyone can afford volks, pretty much anyone who was able to get the money to buy the car can save up and buy some Enkei's, or at least have their OEM wheels painted by someone who knows what the **** they are doing.
