I noticed that for $30 a pop I could get either Monroe 5795 or KYB GR-2/Excel-G rear shocks. These are listed as compatible with the 2005+ sport tuned suspensions (19" wheels). I know this will receive a lot of boos, but I am honestly a real big pu$$y and dont really drive that spirited and actually prefer a softer ride. Are these good for me or are they a piece of sh>t that will blow out after a little while? Is it worth the extra money for Koni or Bilstein? Also when changing the rear shocks is it a good idea to replace the springs as well? I don't want to alter the height at all, if anything I wish the height were higher.

why not just get used oem shocks+springs off craigslist.

if you are replacing blown oem shocks.

KYB shocks are perfectly acceptable replacements for OEM. Since you have sport package, make sure the part numbers match those for the 350Z. Some sites only list one part number for coupes and it's the non-sport version.

No need to replace springs unless you want to lower the car, springs don't typically "wear out."

Where can you get these? I need rear sport shocks too.

understandable. but with how cheap used ones are, and how soft you drive the car, you might be better off with them, instead of cheap ones that can blow immediately.

Lost180 thanks for the info. Do u know if the higher priced koni and bilsteins offer a smoother ride or are you basically paying more for a firmer sportier ride?

Not a bad point torretto. So you feel these cheaply priced KYB's are in fact just that...cheap. I was thinking that they may be low in price because they may not offer a true sporty firm ride like the other higher priced sport shocks.

Can't say for sure, but OEMs tend to be built a lot better than cheap aftermarket parts.

However, KYB is a decent brand.

KYB is traditionally an OEM manufacture for many Nissan products, you can't go wrong with those. I'd consider Monroe "cheap" and avoid them. I don't know if Koni, Tokico, Bilsteins are any better or worse. But I've had good luck with KYB on 2 of my previous cars.

Well these KYB shocks are def low in price. $30. I may try them out considering their name seems to be trusted.
