upgrade headlights
anyone thinking upgrade your's G xenon headlights form 4100k to 6000k, if someone has let me know thanks

i've seen G's with 6000k compared to stock.. i don't see how it's an upgrade when the lighting has been reduced.
If you want to change to bulbs because you just want a different color, many people here have done it with no problems |
yup.. no problems at all.. I changed mine to 7500k.. but I think 7500k is just too blue.. 6000k is the way to go..
|
been thinking about this too, was sifting through the other 100 million threads. Prolly will change my lights to 6000k because I want a hint of blue, any recommendations on brand?
Also, matching fogs for those recommendations.. And then i'll do the clear corners as well. So much to do, such little money eh... |

6000K is a different color temperature. Light output will decrease the higher in colore temp you go, and the 6000K will have a purple color to it...not blue.

If you have good sight, then you probably are good with 6000. I rather keep those stock ones as they are not yellow. I like them either white or blue.
Anyone seen the new SLK's lights? They are purple REAL purpel. |

i use Euro Optix and i love them!!! true HID for my foglights in addition to the normal low beam. the price was good too.

Stock Xenons are 4300K (for all cars) color temperature. As you increase the temperature, you get more and more blue (until it turns to purple) but lose light. 4300K emits the maximum amount of light (something like 3,200 lumens), 6000K emits less, 8000K even less, etc. The bluer light also does not reflect wet and snowy roads as well as the 4300K Xenons (based on what human eyes can see).
Philips and Osram are both reliable Xenon bulb companies. I think Alan has the best idea if you want to improve road illumination...HID fogs are the best bet. |
