Loss of oil on my '05 coupe

I got an 05 coupe. Every week, this bitch needs oil!! I heard the seals go bad in this engine?
Replacing the valve guide seals is a 14hr job! Anyone have the same
Problem with loss of oil? Every week, it's 1/2 qt. Low, sometimes a full qt.
What's the solution???

There is no solution, had mine re-built for the second time, long-story, and its still taking oil. But all the internal parts are new. I just make sure its topped off.

Sounds like the dreaded oil consumption issue, all you can do is keep refilling it up.
Unless you want to pay big bucks out of warranty to replace the short block.

Are you sure short block replacement will stop this issue?

Wait, are u telling me u rebuilt the motha ****a twice??? And STILL have to make sure that bitch is still topped off??? What the hell is the reason for the rebuild then??? Wasn't that the point of rebuilding? How much did that cost anyway???
But it didn't fix it??? Now what can u do?? Making sure she is topped off IS NOT AN OPTION!!! THAT'S BULL ****!!!!!!
Any other ideas??? Come on guys! We pay all this money to have the sexiest car, and we have to live with this??

They all consume oil especial the manual version. Drive like a **** head or not it still will. Try using a synthetic oil does help

I use valvoline Synpower...Full Synthetic. So, no, I don't think so. I thought so, but dam, we both might be wrong

Try Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer. And are using a factory oil filter?

Our VQ engines consume oil. Some more than others. The new HR engine's also had issue with oil consumption.

What may help you slightly is to replace the PCV valve and get an oil catch can and thoroughly check for oil leaks on a lift if you haven't already done so.

To Jairen's point, the VQ engines tend to burn oil, some more than others, not really a rhyme or reason although the there are theories ranging from driving too hard to adding aftermarket intake mods without getting properly tuned afterwards. I am lucky in that my '04 6MT does not burn oil (at least not the extreme that I hear about some of the others experiencing.) I may burn a little less than 1qt for every 5k miles driven (car is currently at 57k miles) but I do run Amsoil synthetic (used to run Mobil1 with no problems either.) The only fix (and as you can see it isn't 100% guaranteed to fix this) is to have the whole engine replaced.

Another common issue is oil pooling up in the spark plugs wells. This appears to be consistent with running the car too lean (especially after installing intake mods without getting a proper tune afterwards.) which requires replacing the valve gasket(?)

You should be aware of both potential issues when purchasing this car.

it sucks, but let it go man, your out of warranty and useless frustration on a known issue. Only option is above.
