AirBag light blinking?!? Also tps tire light on

I bought my g35 couple months back and my airbag light (red person with seatbelt) has always been on and blinkn when I turn car on.

Also the tps (tire pressure sensor) also has been on.

From what my local mechanic told me all my tps sensors are removed, but that my ecu needs to be flashed for the blinkn airbag light to be taken off?

Any help or info would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Search for the airbag light reset. Works well for most people.

I've done the reset 100 times and it works for a few days, so I took it to my local dealership. They told me they'd charge me $150 to check It out, if it was intact the recall then they'd refund me. Is this standard procedure?

so theyll only refund you if its covered under the recall? sucks theyre charging money to check for a fvckin airbag problem..God forbid they check something that potentially important for free...

The airbag light is a sort of "CEL" for the airbag system. For it to come on indicates a fault somewhere. Resetting it won't make it go away just like erasing a CEL won't fix the bad sensors.

There is a recall for the harness on the passenger seat that causes the light to come on., but this might not be the cause.

What the dealer is going is charging for the time to diagnose the problem just like if the CEL is on for a camshaft position sensor. They charge you a diagnostic fee, and most dealers waive that if you perform the repair. If you take the car elsewhere, they still charge you because they did the diagnosis for you. If the fault is due to the recalled harness, it's free. So yeah, that is standard procedure.

HOWEVER, find out of the recall had been done to your car. That fix is free no matter what.

The airbag light isn't always due to the harness. When my light came on (under warranty thankfully), i ended up needing a new clock spring and drivers airbag.
