Cleaning Fogged Headlights..UV protection removed?
with all the various recipes, products, and other processes for restoration of fogged headlights, some keep mentioning the removing of the protective UV coating...
Is this something to be concerned about?
Baking soda w/vinegar, toothpaste and even the commercial products would "appear" to remove any protective coating on the light cover..
Have '05 coupe, and can hardly see dropping $500 or so on headlights, but thats probably what i may do with 2006 OEM projectors HID...
thanks, newbie, so go easy man...

Manufacturer is Nissan.
Few dealerships still sell them for close to a grand I think if not more (think I was quoted 1300)
Best bet is getting them used like most of us <06 guys have had to do
Lot of guys go back to stock reflectors and will sell you a set for $4-500 with your lights included

Not sure why your dude said there was something on the inside. That simply doesn't make sense if they are still factory sealed. Regardless, the inside of the lens cannot be buffed/polished. That will ruin them, period.
However, those really don't look bad from the pic, but if you don't think they're clean enough you can do a buff and polish. If they looked worse I'd recommend a wet sand with 2000 grit first, then the buff and polish. Your dude should have been able to handle that.
You other option is to replace them. If you choose to, I recommend selling the ones you have and putting the cash toward some fresh ones. I drive an 05, and prefer to keep it original with the reflectors. I also like the clearance strip (with 194 LEDs) which the 06+ lamps don't have.
Good luck.
