I usually run 240 miles before the gas goes empty on my G35. I have everything in my car stocked and its automatic. I was wondering if you guys have any tips or if there are any mods that can improve the MPG?

Get a reflash like Osiris. Any car, especially a high mileage car, can always benefit from a tune.
Get low rolling resistance tires. Just know that you are going to be giving up performance for more gas mileage.
Keep tabs on your alignment.
Lose some weight - keep the car clean, empty the back seat and trunk, and lose whatever excess weight you don't need. If you keep something in you car, contemplate whether you really need it or not.
Keep your air filter clean.
Check your spark plugs.
Change your oil at the proper intervals.
I can't think of any more right now.

Dofu forgot the most important way to improve your gas mileage...our brains like the sound of our engines (exhaust) which controls your right foot and the gas pedal. Turn up your tunes leave it in drive and stop listening to your G!Originally Posted by dofu

He asked for mods to help raise mpg. If you guys want to talk driving technique:
When at a stop, let off the brake pedal and let the car start rolling by itself before getting on the gas. It takes less energy to accelerate a moving object than it does to move a stationary object.
Use the brakes as little as possible. It took energy to build up the speed and momentum that you have when at speed, so braking wastes that energy.
Use your cruise control. Set it at 60-65 when you are on the freeway. Any faster and you will be burning a lot of gas.
Combined with what I've started above, those are the most practical and important driving techniques to utilize if you want to get the most miles out of your gas.

I would call driving techniques tips, and unlike mods he would actually come out ahead rather than spending hundreds of dollars on mods that would take years to pay for themselves.Originally Posted by dofu

Yea thats what ive been doing and it does work but can you explain to me how cruise control works? I live in Los Angeles and the traffic in freeway is mostly packed, can I still use it? or wants the ideal condition to use it on?Originally Posted by dofu

Yea, you are screwed in traffic. You just have to go easy on the gas and try to brake as little as possible.Originally Posted by G35_EAZY

Dude you guys must drive like mad 24/7, I drive spiritedly once in awhile, but normal for the majority of the time and I can easily get 400 miles to a tank...

Stop driving like you just stole it. 95-85 degrees weather I get around 315mpt 260-240 if I drive her hard. Now because of this 42-54 degrees mornings and 65 degrees nights in central Florida as this morning I had a little less then a half a tank and I've only gone 185 miles... And that's with me driving like a bad out of hell.

Now that I think about it I really need to open that cooling line back up that heats the upper Plenum

IMO fluids are a very important factor that effects your mpg.
Pretty much everything that acts as a resistance to your engine has effect on mpg.
Ideal situation is when you get your engine to perform as best as possible (spark plugs, air filter, engine oil, engine oil filter) and you remove as much resistance as possible (properly inflated tires, axle fluid, transmission fluid, good alignment, good bearings, less weight)
I personally pay most of my attention to just fluids and my Coupe gets 20-21 city and 25 highway. And I believe that's an improvement over EPA estimates.
