Surely not heater related but what do I know. Maybe you are on to something as in the Summer running AC I did not have this.

I am leaning toward oil burning due to leaking gasket somewhere as I am missing some oil.

I have a similar smell. Just changed the oil 50 miles ago with full syn to no avail. Didn't see any plastic bags on my exhaust but didn't know to look. Is that some kind of G curse?Have noticed a slight seepage from my valve covers. Saw a thread on here about possibly replacing the valve covers with Maxima covers because they have better spark tube seals. Wonder if this is the issue??? I have noticed some light smoke at night near my headlights a few times. It could possibly be oil but it does smell plastic-like. Also, seems to be when I am cranking the factory Bose system but that may be a coincidence.

Having picked up a plastic bag on my HFCs it smells much worse than burning rubber lasting at least 1K miles!

I have had that smell...

I had an '06 G35X and it would present that smell after I had been doing some spirited driving. It really smelled bad when I would play in the snow, drifting and such. I thought it might have something to do with the braking system? Not sure. I currently have an '05 G35 Coupe, and have not had the smell yet. I have done some hard driving, but no smell.

Ideas....Experience please....

Today I took the splash guard off. There was a lot oil on the guard.

I see a little bit of new/clean oil on the bottom of the chamber below the intake on the driver's side.

I cannot identify where the oil is leaking from.

About 1/2 quart engine oil gone in about 3,000 miles.

This pic is of the intake area that has this chamber below it where the oil is spraying/dripping onto...Obviously the intake won't be leaking oil.

Thanks

Check the connection under the air intake tube.. But it wouldn't be that much coming into the intake :/

So today good enough weather to look a little further.

Took the driver's side intake snorkel off to see if something below it would show leak. Noooo, we do not see anything except there is some fresh oil on one of the power steerning lines. Just a little oil but it was fresh, clean, engine oil.

Now this past week I had the belly pans off and did not see any smoke and little to no smell.

Here is a pic of where I had the intake snorkel off of the Driver's side.
I was surprised to see how clean everything looks and no sign of leaking except for the above mentioned power steering line.
Any body have experience with a leak in this area?

is the smell not going away? I mean is it getting any weeker? u need to lift and check the exhaust system first. thats the most basic and most likely hopefully.

Huh?

Lift and check ?

Only thing I can imagine about exhaust would be manifold gasket leaking. Is that what you mean?
This is not exhaust smell.

Maybe some oil drippping onto exhaust somewhere but the exhaust all look clean with no residue of anything burning on it.

There is a lot of oil on the belly pan...It is getting out of the engine somewhere. Somewhere near where the pic is taken I am pretty sure.

MAybe soomebody has had a leak in this area? I am getting to think just drive it and keep check on oil level.

Thanks

I seem to be smelling a little biting oil myself, did a lot of research and wasn't able to find a common issue, I just had my oil changed about 1000 miles ago, I'm going to check my oil and see what level it's at
