I hope they would at least ask for some ID!! After all there making keys for cars, wouldnt they want to know if it was infact yours. Im sure the dealers, just as us, know about this and aren't just gunna hand someone keys without a few questions.

As long as you are insured you should be ok.

Plus, if a dealer gave the theif a new key without asking for ID, i'm pretty sure either you or your insurance agency would be able bring forth a lawsuit against the dealer.
