So it turns out if you make a comment on their Facebook about the horrid paint, Infiniti actually cares just enough to call you and ask your opinion! The lady said Infiniti won't do anything about it (no ****), but that they are "looking into it" (considering the new cars have a different paint entirely, no they are not). But I did get notified there's an active recall on my car (157 - seat belt tensioner on Passanger side), and I am getting a free jacket!

 

Really? They are just finding out about this now?

I said the same thing years ago when my brand new G had the softest paint I've ever seen on a car. A snowflake would leave a chip

 

lol I always get a good chuckle when I open the hood and read the sticker that says "Protected by Infiniti hard clear coat". Who do they think they're fooling???

 

Never even noticed that one. Protected by SFA more like.

I'm having my car repainted on Friday, hopefully with DuPont solvent based paint and a double layer of clear coat I won't be experiencing 10,000 rock chips again.
