If someone who has done something similar can give me feed back asap id really appreciate it, I have my headlights open and want to know before i paint them

Those headlights look like they have the headlight housings blacked out, which shouldn't affect light output at all. As long as you don't paint the portion where the reflectors/mirrors are.

Do you have an 04 or 06? With 06 projectors it would make absolutely no difference. With an 04 it would make no difference if you only paint the housing. If you paint the chrome reflectors, it will decrease your functional light output a good amount.

Just don't be a dbag like this guy any "murder out yo" your headlights.

I have the 04 headlights I was thinking something similar to the picture I attached, my current headlights look like the second picture.

It will not have an impact on your light output. I assume your current setup is a bluebat overlay and not paint right?

when blacking out the headlights, you DO NOT black out the reflector. Look close in the picture you posted, the reflector is not blacked out, so your output is not changed, light still reflects as it did before.
If you gonna spray paint the crap out of your lens, that's a different story.

It is painted not overlay, so i can do it like the person in the video i posted in the above post?

at 0:59 in the video where he shows two parts of the headlight you can see the part with reflectors (which you do not paint) and a bezel (which you do paint). So to answer you question YES. If you do what this guy did in the video, you will do nothing to your headlights that will reduce your light output.

I'm not sure about plastidip though.
Better get some high temp caliper paint at Autozone or Oreilly auto parts so that it stands up to the heat well.

Here is a pic of my headlights painted with caliper paint for reference.

If it is paint you basically have 3 options.
1. (Best option) Look for a set of used 06 projector headlights to replace them with.
2. Wet sand and polish the paint off your headlight, then cover with a clear film protectant so they don't yellow.
3. Leave as is.
