dont think so Tspree15... however they are more like pole barns... throw a handful of pipes/pvc together unfold the canvas/plastic tarp overtop, tie it down and your good to go.

tspree15: Not really a car port but close.

As for a car cover I use an Evolution (Technalon) form fitted car cover which is oustanding. It's breatheable yet doesn't let water in...basically what everyone's saying about he Infiniti cover but this one is over $50 less than the Infiniti one.

I got a FormFit from Covercraft. A bit pricey ($250) but I'm happy with the quality. Indoor only though.

I'm worried even if I get a good custom car cover that my car could get scratched if there is dirt on the car or on the inside of the cover. Should this be a concern? Also, what about just getting a huge tarp to put over the top of the car and "steak" it into the ground

Forget the tarp idea! I think in your case you should skip the cover and just wash often. Your car needs to be clean every time you cover it or you will scratch the hizzle out of it.

How about this idea... Does the Clear Bra protect from Car Cover scratches??? I'm guessing it does since it protects from small pebble scratches on the freewat...

DO NOT PUT TARP ON YOUR CAR!! That wil scratch the paint. It happened to my dad's old work truck, scratched the hell outta the paint.... the clear bra will protect from scratches in the area where the bra is installed. Just clean your car before its covered and you should have no worries. Just dont allow your carcover to ever get dirty. I store mine in the trunk so its not an issue for me.

Good point. The worry for me is that I will be putting the cover on/off every day so the car is bound to get dirty from driving and I'm sure the cover will as well. I don't want the car to get scratched by the cover. Is this a real concern or my paranoia?

oh... ok, I see what you're saying. Yeah, it will become an issue if you clean it, drive it, then try to cover it again everyday. Well, you could buy one of those car dusters and dust the car off before you cover it. I'm not sure how well that will work though. Or, like someone suggested, you can get one of those carports. That will at least protect it from the sun and rain.

hello fellow florida G owner,
i have always lived under trees and even with a garage some of my cars have needed to stay outside so here's the best advice i can give you.....if your car is light colored the micro scratches you might get using a car cover will not show as badly as sap discoloration of the paint or tannic acid staining from the leaves, bark, etc. if your car is dark colored the micro scrtaches will show worse than the sap /stain problems.

unfortunately there is no easy solution. i have tried the cover deal and when it's wet in the morning or afternoon the thing will get you nasty as well as grow mold on the cover when placed in the carrying bag. the most important thing you can do is to keep a good coat of wax on and apply at maximum 2 month intervals. this should help resist most problems from the trees. good luck and happy 'G'ing
