To save OEM cats or not to save?
I really don't see why it's so difficult to just save the damn parts to easily pass emissions down the road... I still have a cat from my old MR2.. really, it seems way easier than looking for a shady shop and paying bribe costs...
sell
Hey,
I live in Cali and recently got berks HFCs. I sold my cats on craigslist for $250 in a week, and had more replies after I sold them, I bet I coulda got $300 if I waited longer. Some guy bought a G from carmax and needed to pass smog. Interestingly, the car had basic bolt ons (plenum spacer & CAI) and a body kit lol. I would sell em if you want some extra $$ I have a year til smog and there's always a way to pass with a lil $
btw my car had K&N CAI with carb sticker and a magnaflow catback and it passed smog fine. But now I know I won't pass with my HFCs and tune I got.

I ALWAYS save my old parts, because when you end up needing them to comply with inspections/ sell the car, it's gonna cost a decent amount to get new ones. If they were on the verge of being shot, or it wasn't an expensive part to replace, then I can see throwing them out.
