My wife was on her way to work when she heard what sounded like a brake pad squeal (the sound you hear when the pads need replacing). She then noticed the temp was on Hot. Up to that point all was fine. She pulled the car over and called me. When I looked under the hood, there appears to be some anti-freeze splashed up on the underside of the hood and front of the engine. Coincidentally, last night after running some errands, I had smelled anti-freeze around the car last night when i got home and had parked the car. Then this.

1) Does that sound like the water pump is shot?
2) Are they a do-it-yourself job to replace or have a shop do it?
3) any idea on cost of a pump and labor if I have a dealer fix it?
